My Favorite Son-In-Law.
August 31, 2009

Once upon a time I had a little girl. She was cute, sweet, and very funny.

She went on and did that thing that little girls do…she grew up.

Well, sort of grew up, anyway. She is still cute, sweet, and very funny. She has done some great things in her life but more on her another time. What I would like to do is tell you about a great thing she did two and a half years ago. She married a young man by the name of Jacob. Jacob is…you guessed it…cute, sweet, and very funny. The boy’s got some brains…he is an architect. He is verrrry personable, responsible…I could go on and on…what every mother-in-law would wish for. But perhaps the “bestest” thing of all…Jacob has…

Believe me, my family can use them. The guy on the right, my brother-in-law, Mike…he was the tall one until Jacob came along.

Another thing about Jacob…he is a very good photographer.

Blair Meerfeld at Red Star
August 13, 2009

Last week we had a good workshop experience with Blair who is now managing the ceramic department at the Torpedo Factory.

This is Blair working on a teapot form. His finished work can be seen in the Red Star gallery.

Two Soda Pitchers
These are two pitchers I made during the workshop. I applied a copper wash and fired in the soda kiln.

Five Soda Cups
Here are few of the cups I made for the workshop participants. They came out of the soda kiln, too.
