Beware The Ides Of March

March 15th. A stumbling block for Caesar, 44BC, and myself, 2006AD. I would not trade my plight for his, however.
One reason I did not follow the path of Julius was the fact that my friends folded 1000 paper cranes to ensure my recovery. It worked! I don’t know anything firsthand about that activity but I’ve been told that Laura D’Angelis was instrumental in the organization of the folding parties, making sure extras were folded for good measure. I was also told that my daughter, Whitney, folded many, many of the cranes.
I visited my brother, Randy, recently and we made a display box for the cranes. They had been hanging in my studio and getting quite dusty. While I unstrung them, cleaning each with a soft cloth, I thought of all the people who were so kind to me during that year. This is a thank you to all of you.

Did you fold a crane for me?

If so, consider yourself partly responsible for the fact that I am here to see this…

Thank you!
